Allow me to wax poetic for a bit.
I looked at this and was confused for a moment by the lack of movement in the second gif, the close-up of Naruto. It took me a while to realize it wasn’t a still image. Then I watched the flicker and spark of the first gif, the gradual grow of the Rasengan in the last one. And I realized… Chidori and Rasengan seem to embody Sasuke and Naruto perfectly. Now my knowledge of canon is a bit rusty lately, but let me have a crack at this anyway.
We all know Sasuke isn’t quite in his right mind - he succumbs to anger quite easily, and has been drawn to look creepy and almost insane at times. He’s driven by illogical bonds that he refuses to acknowledge and can be fickle about his alliances.
Naruto, on the other hand, seems to have realized a sense of calm: he has to meditate in order to enter sage mode, and has matured immensely since the start of the series. His clone is still in the last gif as well; I remember when he had to basically attack the air repeatedly with his hands in order to start a Rasengan. I don’t know what the context is here - for all we know the animators could just have been lazy - but I think it says a lot about him.
Now back to your regularly scheduled… Wait. I don’t post much. Never mind.
